Nadikar Movie Review
Tovino Thomas returns to the screen in “Naadikar” directed by Jean Paul Lal, also known as Lal Jr. The film takes us behind the scenes to show us what life is really like for a film star. It’s Thomas’ second film this year, and it tries to show the real struggles of stardom through the eyes of superstar David Padikkal.
The film opens with a tribute to old Malayalam movies and an interview with famous actor Prem Nazir, who talks about how difficult life can be for an actor. Then following David Padikkal, he goes from one film set to another and his life becomes a mixture of drugs, women, and parties after a few failed films.
What Is The Story?
David’s career is in trouble after three failed films. His manager, Paili (played by Suresh Krishna) finally allows him to work with big-time director Koshy. But David’s bad attitude ruins him, and he walks out, risking his last chance to save his career. On Paili’s advice, David begins working with an acting coach, Balu (played by Soubin Shaheer), in hopes of saving his sinking career. The story focuses on whether Baloo can help David regain his stardom and become a better actor.

Nadikar Movie Plot, Script and Climax
The idea behind Nadikar is interesting, but the way it’s written makes it hard to really get into the story. The movie doesn’t delve deep into David’s feelings or thoughts, so it’s hard to feel connected to what he’s going through. Even scenes that could be emotional, like when David talks about his mom, don’t hit the mark because they suddenly switch to being less serious. The ending of the film is also disappointing.
Nadikar’s film tries to show how David changes by working with Balu, but it is not convincing. We’re meant to see him change from a self-centered star to a better person and actor, but that big change doesn’t come through in the story.
While the movie has some good moments, like when David calls his ex-girlfriend in a moment of desperation, the humor is lackluster and doesn’t fit well with the rest of the film.
Nadikar promises to give us a realistic look into the life of a movie star but falls short as it doesn’t give a deep enough look into the life and struggles of the lead character. He has some good ideas but can’t deliver.
