Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue is a 2023 Indian movie that is both a thriller and drama. The film is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by Pooja Entertainment in Hindi. It is based on a true story in 1989 when the Raniganj coalfield in West Bengal collapsed. The film stars Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra.
The story centers on Jaswant Singh Gill, a dedicated mining engineer who graduated from IIT Dhanbad. He heroically rescued 65 miners trapped underground during the disaster.
Mission Raniganj movie was shot from July 2022 to August 2023 in various locations including the United Kingdom, Raniganj, Jharkhand, and Mumbai. It was released in theaters on October 6, 2023. Although critics liked the film, it did not do well. at the box office and did not attract many viewers.
