Kick is a 2014 Bollywood action-comedy movie directed by Sajid Nadiadwala in his first attempt. It was produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and UTV Motion Pictures. The film stars Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. It is a remake of the 2009 Telugu movie of the same name. The film was made with a budget of around ₹55 crore (about US$6.9 million).
Rajat Arora wrote the script and also worked on the screenplay with Nadiadwala, Chetan Bhagat, and Keith Gomes. Kick was released on July 25, 2014, during the Eid festival and was a huge hit. It grossed ₹402 crore (about US$50 million) worldwide, and in India alone, it grossed over ₹232 crore. The film was Salman Khan’s first film to gross over 200 crores, making it one of the biggest hits of 2014.
The movie received positive reviews, with people enjoying its humor, acting, and music. Due to its success, a sequel titled Kick 2 is being prepared with the same cast and crew.
