Turbo Movie Story, Review, and Plot
Malayalam superstar Mammootty has been on a winning streak for the last two years. After an excellent performance in ‘Bramayugam’, he is back with ‘Turbo’, where he plays a full-fledged action hero. The big question is whether working with director Vysakh will continue his success or not. let’s find out!
In Turbo, Mammootty plays the character of Jose, a jeep driver who gets into fights in his village when provoked. The youth of his village love to watch him fight, especially during festivals. When his friend Jerry (Shabarish Verma) gets injured in a fight, Jose learns that the enemy gang attacked Jerry because he had fallen in love with Indulekha (Anjana Jayaprakash). Jose takes Indu to Jerry’s house for help, but Jerry becomes angry. This creates trouble for Sindhu and Jerry and the story moves towards Chennai.
In Chennai, Jerry and Sindhu work in different banks and are still feuding as lovers. Jerry faces a big problem when he discovers a big scam by Vetrivel Shanmuga Sundaram (Raj B Shetty). The film revolves around whether Jerry can expose Vetrivel, what happens to his relationship with Sindhu, and how Jose helps them. All this goes on for two and a half hours.
Written by Midhun Manuel Thomas and directed by Vysakh, Turbo is a no-holds-barred commercial film about a tough guy who defeats everyone. Mammootty’s Josh is tough but also struggles with PTSD due to a childhood incident. He encounters Vetrivel Shanmuga Sundaram, a typical psychotic villain who enjoys killing people.
While Turbo has many predictable moments, Mammootty’s charm and the technical quality of the film make it interesting. Vishnu Sarma’s camera work and Cristo Xavier’s music enliven even the mundane scenes, leaving the audience cheering for Mammootty. There are many twists and turns in the film, especially in the climax, which keeps things exciting.
The climax hints at a sequel starring two top actors, which adds more excitement.
Turbo is all about Mammootty. It also touches on police and political corruption and how rich people exploit the system. The theme is relevant and attractive, which makes the audience curious to know how it is handled in the film.
The action scenes in Turbo have been well made. Mammootty’s charisma and unique quirks make the film entertaining. It’s fun to see him back in a commercial entertainer role and he does it well. Anjana Jayaprakash does a great job in her role, and Raj B Shetty, despite playing a clichéd villain, delivers a good performance and is a good match for Mammootty. The actress who plays Mammootty’s mother adds some comedy, especially in the scene where she watches ‘The Avengers’ at a crucial moment.
Overall, Turbo shows the enduring appeal of Mammootty and how he can make even a predictable story entertaining with his performance.
#Turbo registers a decent SAT at the Kerala Box Office. Early projections suggest ₹3.8-₹3.9 crore, matching Friday's figures, bringing the three-day total to approximately ₹13.7 crore.
