Audiences always love a good love story, especially when it is unique and relevant. Made by the team behind ‘Good Night’, ‘Lover’ promises to impress the audience with its heartwarming story.
The film revolves around Arun (played by Manikandan), a troubled young man. He is deeply affected by his parents’ unhappy marriage and his struggles to start a restaurant. Despite these challenges, he finds comfort in his six-year relationship with his college girlfriend Divya (played by Sri Gowri Priya). However, Arun’s problems lead him to alcohol and sometimes drugs, causing him to mistreat Divya until she reaches a breaking point. The story is based on Arun’s desperate attempts to get her back, leading to a powerful climax.
Manikandan has impressed by portraying Arun’s transformation from a selfish, chaotic character to a repentant man. Sri Gowri Priya shines in her role as Divya, conveying her character’s pain in a believable way. Kanna Ravi too has put in a strong performance as Divya’s colleague, which adds depth to the story.
