Garudan (meaning Brahminy Kite) is an Indian Tamil-language action thriller film to be released in 2024. It is written and directed by R. S. Durai Senthilkumar, based on a story by Vetrimaaran. The film is produced by Vetrimaaran’s Grass Root Film Company and K. Kumar’s Lark Studios.
The film stars Soori, M. Sasikumar, Unni Mukundan, Roshini Haripriyan and Sivada in the lead roles. It also features Revathi Sharma, Samuthirakani, Vadivukkarasi, R. V. Udayakumar and Mime Gopi in supporting roles. The story revolves around a loyal friendship between two childhood friends whose loyalties are tested and changed due to betrayal and a fight for survival.
The film was first announced in September 2023 without a title and is Soori’s second lead role after “Viduthalai Part 1”. Filming began in September 2023 and ended in January 2024. The title Garudan was announced later that month. The film’s music was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Arthur A. Wilson and editing by Pradeep E. Raghav.

Garudan Release Date OTT
Garudan will be released in theaters worldwide on May 31, 2024. The film received positive response from critics, who praised the performances of the lead actors, especially Suri, Sasikumar and Unni Mukundan. The film’s music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and direction and screenplay by Senthilkumar also received good response.
